Actually they work! You cant read the tag unless you stand directly behind the car.

I dont know about where you are, but many states & towns have begun to issue tickets by taking a photo of the offender from a nearby location.

I got a ticket for running a yellow light in NC last year. A camera took a pic of the licence plate of the rental I was driving and viola... they nailed me. (I was totally innocent BTW )There wasnt a cop within miles. I got the ticket in the mail a month later.

I know they do similar things in VA, Wash DC, and at the toll booths on the NJ Tpk (ezpass lanes)

Making it so the tag can't be read unless you are directly behind the car actually works! If they cant read the tag, they cant send you the ticket! :blueangel:

All you would have to say is that you were not driving the car that day, if they sent it to the registered owner. Rental car situation is a little different.

The registered owner stand to loose driving privliges if he dosent pay the ticket. It says so right on the ticket and the judge said the same thing when I appealed my ticket. :yesnod:

That spray works in the same way my license plate covers do. They refract light in a different direction, I think. These pictures I just took aren't a very good example because I didn't have much room between the back of the car and the wall, but it clearly shows how they work. We have red light cameras in our city. I try and never run a red light, but at the same time i'm against the whole photo thing.
