1969 corvette spark plugs
i'm having a problem with ac delco spark plugs. the problem is i set the gap at .035. I ran the car wide open 2 or 3 times and checked the gap again. they were off again. has anyone heard of this ? what spark plugs should i use? thanks , blane :confused:

AC plugs suck. I don't know what would make the gap close up except a piston contact with the plug. Are you sure they are the right plugs? I ALWAYS used Autolite plugs, they last the longest -- by far. In your car, if it is a SB, use Autolite #86, gapped at .035. Will run like a champ, guaranteed.

i use R44 when its really hot and muggy, R45 for mid spring nites, and R46 for those tit bit nipply days.. works great for WOT runs

AC used to be a good plug. Not any more !!
44's are no longer available in Canada.
The 43's I looked at last summer were made in Mexico and were absolutely
trash.
Relative to your problem, many of the 43's had the center electrode loose, along with other problems.
I can believe you can't keep them gapped.
