Cannot find anything on the 350/350 but Car and Driver tested the 70 LT1 (350/370) with 4-speed and 4.11 gears. Ran 1/4 at 14.5@99.5. Motor Trend (also with Lt1, 4-speed, and 4.11 gears) ran 14.36@101.69.

(I just have to do this  . C&D test of 73 L82, 4-speed, 3.70 gear, ran 14.3@92. Guess the early L82 was not a smog motor after all. :D )

But modern tires would help them all.

tom...

Depends on a number of things:

A. What mufflers you are running in those side pipes
B. What rear end you have
C. What size tires
D. How well you can drive a stick

I would tend to think that it should run 13.5 to 14.5 down the 1/4 mile with an average driver. Just a rough guess though.

hey bence13_33...i dunno what type of mufflers are in the sidepipes, im guessing factory, are there different types of mufflers you can buy for those sidepipes??? the rear end is a factory one with factory gears, whatever they may be, the rear tires are 275/60-15 Goodyears

My '70 with the original 350/300 runs 15 second quarters. Look at my signature for mods.

And why do you own a 70? Factory gears/ Factory rear. Something ain't right here. Time for a little Vette101.

Now I wonder if I'm even in the 15's!!!

If I ever run the quarter with her the way she is, I'm going to make sure there aren't any witnesses. :bb :bb

As Eric70 previously posted, check my Signature. I also have a stock rear end setup, and would imagine that I am between 300 and 350 horsepower and I as well only run 15's. It's all in those 3.08 stock gears and an Automatic Transmission. I would think that with a stick, you should be in the 14.5-15.0 range. Take it to the track and see, no need to guess :yesnod: Good Luck and remember no matter what your time, it's still a Corvette, so who cares if a Honda beats you

I own an all stock '70.
Best 1/4 mi., 13.02 @ 110.30 with street tires. I can run 13.1's all day long.
Pull up beside me sometime, I can show you a little "Vette101".

Thick skinned tonight guys    I guess I'm jeolous of a guy that owns a $20,000 dollar car and did very little reshearch about a car he owns. I don't know why it rubbed me the wrong way but it did. Anyway welcome to the forum and I will be happy to help you figure out how fast your car is.

My guess with stock tires. Low 15's, maybe even a 16. Why, because we all ran that the first time. You get to the line and your knees are shaking so bad, and you can only thing of one thing. Punch it. Result. Smoked tires and 15's. After a couple of practices. 14's no problem.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. You other old timer forum members, grow some skin on that back. :D

Hi Buddy,

It's been so long since I had a good race, that I'll jump at anything.
Sure wish there was a way for all of us to get together and just run
some times. Sure would beat bench racing, or is that Forum racing.

Your comment is absolutely correct about the first time at the strip.
I ran in the 14's first few times.
Some tuning and some improved driving netted some 13's.

Race on !!

Barry,
This summer the Corvette forum is suppose to have a Drag Day. One weekend all the forum members, all over the World are going to the local track and line them up. I'm not sure if the event date has been set, but Troy had the threads started. Sounds fun.

hey, sorry guys if i seem clueless, the car is not mine, it's my dad's!! i'm sure he knows all about it, but him and i will be battling it out this summer at the track, and i just wanna know what i will have to go up against!! is his vette really worth $20K? it has 60K original miles, show-winning black paint, perfect chrome, show-winning black interior...it really is a beautiful car, considering i hate GM's

Sidepipes and 3:70 gears, I bet your ears don't ring for two days after a trip
on the highway.
There are days when 3:08's look mighty good.
