Default Driveshaft ujoint R&R

Is this difficult? I replaced the halfshaft joints but still have the clunking sound from the rear sometimes when releasing the clutch. What tips do y'all have before I get into trouble?

Driveshaft joints were easier than the halfshafts, for me. Less rust and such. If doing the joints doesn't get rid of the clunk, then I think you've got to look at the pumpkin. Could also be wheel bearings. I'd hate for that to be true, but you might have to look at them if you haven't already. I was sure I had a bad u-joint, and it turned out that both outer halfshaft joints were bad, and the driver's side rear wheel bearings were shot, too. :(
That was a very expensive discovery. I hope yours is better. :seeya

Don't forget to check the front differential bracket forward bolt and cushions for slop. If these pieces are loose or worn you get quite a bit of clunking since the whole rear end moves back and forth. LOL
