Default Gear ratios, what's the cheapest way.......

I just got back from the CIM backroad cruise to Temecula and while the cruise was great on backroads, on the highway home, I-15 south, I kept pace wth a 911 Targa and my engine was racing at 3800 RPM. Now Sheila is no longer a daily driver so gas milage is not an issue but the engine has to work so hard to go 80+ MPH, since the tranny is a close ratio. The rear is a 3.06 (I think) which is good for the highway but the tranny is too high geared. What are my options? I do not want to replace the orignal tranny but I have to stick to local cruises on the beach roads because I have to suck down gas and rev the sh#@ out of the motor to keep at highway speeds with the newer Vettes/ sportcars. What are my options/ prices to make this car more "highway friendly"? :smash: :smash: :smash:
