Default Vortec 5300 Swap.

I have a 74 Vette with no motor. I have recently come across a Vortec 5300 and am thinking of installing it.

Although I have a few questions.

1.
Are the motor mounts in the vortec blocks the same as a regular 350 block? (I do not believe so) From what I understand an LS1 derivative's mounts is a little different but there are kits one can buy to bolt an LS1 into 350 motor mounts? Same with a 5300? I assume the mounts on an LS1 are the same as a 5300?

2.
The Vortec 5300 is externally balanced? It does not have a hole in the flywheel, for a manual tranny? To bolt this motor up to a Muncie or Super T10 one would have to buy a new flywheel?

3.
Will the 5300 Overbore
From 96mm->99mm
From 3.780in->3.900in
I have heard this can be done but this is a very large boring.
These are the dementions for a regular LS1.

4.
Is there a stroker kit currently out for the 5300's.

5.
Can the computers in a 5300 an EPROM, can they be reprogrammed on the fly?

6.
What is the advertised duration and lift on a stock 5300?

7.
Is there a difference between a 1999 & 2000 5300? Are all LM7's the same, I have found different horsepower output numbers for this engine.

8.
Any thing else that could be helpful guys I would greatly appreciate. If you can just comment on a few it would help me alot.

The LS1 is not much like the 5300, (I dont think) but motor mounts should be extremely easy to fabricate. You will need a different flywheel, and very few of the parts are interchangable between the gen III (I think 5300 is gen III), and the gen I small block. Also, would it not maybe be a better idea to put an LT1 in there (unless you get a deal on the 5300)? Maybe not, but just a thought.
