That is very cool.
I have a Hotwheels 69 Yellow ZL-1 that has the sidepipes and white letter tires. Looks a lot like your sig pic to me.

I have that one too... It's pretty cool. I just picked up a couple of others including 3 Universal Hobby Grand sports, the Carousel Rebel Racer, and A racing champions yellow 69 ZL-1. The little Grand Sports (1:43 scale) and the Rebel Racer are killer... very detailed!!!!
I took a couple of pics - although not great shots - can be seen here... http://community.webshots.com/album/31906170sGVCkTxbol

Too Kewl! Hey Red Vette Racer - You need to organize a group purchase on your car model. That's awesome. :)
There's a guy in the '70 Registry who was the model car for Johnny Lightning for 1970. http://corvetteforum.net/c3/1970registry/notable.html #04826. :)

The model is pretty darn cool, but it is not the same car. The model is of Tony Delorenzo's 68 OC car. Red's car is supposed to be the third of the OC cars built and sent to Germany. He painted it that way a before he found the history of the car. None the less they are both still pretty cool.

I believe redvetracr's car is indeed the 3rd of the Owings Corning cars!!!

bjm,
What do you mean "supposed to be" would i lie to you?? NEVER!! Besides your dad`s pal Tony D. admitting it, i have loads and loads of documentation. And just to set the record straight bjm is correct, my car was painted as a tribute to the Owens-Corning team three years before i knew it had any O-C history (i actually wanted it black). The GM styling engineer that painted all the O-C cars did a psychodelic design on my car much wilder than what is on it now. Anyone want to post the pic? I have one color photo.
...redvetracr
PS: I do have the ONLY one that will ever be "raced"

Re: How cool is it that one of our members has thier own diecast model??? (redvetracr)
Red you know I don't doubt you, seriously. All you had to do was buy the model to have it look like your car. I had to buy, b-blast it, and paint it to look like mine. Are you going to race it this year???

Red, you know I like pulling your chain!!! By the way, I have been thinking, your car is almost more white than red!!!!! Shouldn't it be whitevetracr?

bjm,
Talk about "chain pulling" if not for your "twice removed step brother" ha ha ha, I might be known as blkveteracr. I am racing the three at R/A maybe the new track in Iowa (october) and someone from Steve Earle`s office called last week and asked if i was interested in an "invite" to Monterey. .HN

Hey, lets be nice. haha. That would be great if you made it to Monterey. I think my father was thinking about trying to get invited to the race, but don't think it will happen.
