Hey guys,
I just got my swept fin spinner kit and new emblems and I'm going to be putting them on soon, but I want to polish my wheels first. I was hoping I could get some detailed directions to do this. I know its going to take some time, but that is all I'm going to have on my spring break week so I really wanted to get started on it. Is there a clearcoat that needs to be stripped off first, would a drill attachment or grinder attachment help? I'm ready to put the time in, I want them to look like mirrors when I'm done. Thanks guys, any help would be great!!

I just did some. Do a search and there is a detailed process. I paint stripped and then used 320-then 600 wet-then 1200 wet-then buffed with white rouge and then buff with autosol. Came out like chrome.

I havent done it myself yet. But ive been told the truck stops can polish aluminum and make it look like chrome. Im goning to take mine and try it soon.

If you read the linked thread you can see how I did mine. They were in pretty bad shape and I spent about 3 hours each. Worth the effort. I found that with the right buffing and sanding that wet or dry does not make a difference.

There was no clearcoat on my wheels that I know of.

I used fine steel wool with metal polish.
