Transmission selector seal repacement!!!
Well after changing it 4 times..I believe I got it right this time...So I figured I would post how I got over the torn seal problem....It was explained to me by the local tranny shop that the selector shaft had to be removed and the seal put in and the selector shaft reinstalled other wise the seal would tear on the lip of the selector shaft...So on my 4th seal(Refused to remove the Selector shaft)..I got an idea(Yes''An Idea..They are few and far apart)..I curled a small piece of card paper into a small funnel covered with grease slid that over the selector shafts lip then slid the seal over the funnel when it cleared the lip on the selector shaft..I removed the funnel and drove it Home.....Soi far so good no leaks :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: ...Just figured I would post this to save some of you guys the frustration..Good luck

Re: Transmission selector seal repacement!!! (BADCAIMAN)
Well, I had the same problem. I had a mechanic replace
it when I had some rear end work done. It kept leaking.
On the fourth trip back to the shop, the mechanic replaced
the shaft (he showed me the old one, it was pretty nicked
up). I've had it home two days now with no leak.
