Leather seat question
Do leather seats have leather on all exterior surfaces (ie. sides, back and seating surfaces (where your body rests)) or is it leather only on seating surfaces?

Re: Leather seat question (76greg)
Greg,
The original seat covers in a '76 are leather/vinyl, and the standard replacement is exactly like the original. The leather includes the seating part (top and bottom) and half of the strip along the sides. The rest is vinyl, but that's a small area because most of the back surface is taken up by the rigid seatback.
I recently replaced mine with the leather/vinyl and its hard to tell the difference between the leather and the vinyl. The vinyl part stretches so it may be a little easier than all-leather to install.

Re: Leather seat question (76greg)
Most "leather" seats are leather only on the seating surfaces. The backs, sidepanels, etc. are different grades of vinyl. Some of the more expensive vehicles used leather for the entire seat at one time, but have selectively replaced leather with the vinyl to reduce costs - leather has gotten pretty expensive.
