Spark plugs for BB
Just was wondering what spark plugs you think are the best. My motor is a 454 with merlin iron rectangular port heads, crane 296-2 cam, holley 780 carb, stock distributor with pertronix guts.

I don't know the difference actually. But the XLS is recommended for my particular late 60's iron head, which I believe was the non-"peanut" style spark plug boss. XLS also are compatible with aluminum heads.
Not sure if it matters on a modern head. The XLS is a slim plug with an optional ring which I use. Sorry can't be more definitive.
