Slowly but surely the motor is going back together. I brought my car in for an inspection, and next thing I know the motor is being rebuilt. (Thanks to a spun connecting rod bearing that may have been a blessing in disguise.)

You did a nice job of rounding all the corners on the domes. That is a serious dome. I assume you will now degree the cam before installing the other 7 pistons. Also check valve clearance after degreeing and before installing the other pistons.
Look nice.

Not me, the motor work is being done by a professional. But, I agree he went to town on the pistons. The machine shop was doing the final balance. When I went to pick everything up he had smoothed out the piston tops, and put the rods and pistons together. He also did some detail work where the floating pin meets the piston.
And yes, degreing the cam, and checking all piston to valve clearances is next on the menu.

Very nice job on the pistons, with that much duration I wonder if you could get away with pump gas. I know you have a very high compression motor, but I have seen higher compression than that live on pump gas. :chevy
