Default Does anyone have a sound file of an XE256/262/268 Cam?

I'm trying to get an idea of what the different cams sound like... will running a shorter duration affect the chopiness of the cam sound at all or only the LSA?
A nice clear sound file of the car idling would be awesome, idling and revving even better. Also, what speeds are your idles at?
TIA

Most people don't pick a cam based on the sound...... Even so, with exhaust systems differences a 262 in a car with headers and dual exhaust will sound different than a car with stock 2-1-2 system.

With my 268h cam and stock 2-1-2 exhaust idling at 650rpm it sounded dead stock. But up at higher rpm you could feel it. When I went to true duals at 650rpm it didn't sound stock anymore, but close. If I drop the rpm to about 550 or 600 at idle it sounds really choppy and mean and shakes the car a bit but thats too low for me.

I have the xe256 with dual ex. Sounds mild but has a nice purr to it when you put the boot into it. Should sound better when I get headers in a couple of weeks.

This is the XE-262 with 3'' Dyno-Max Race Magnum Bullet mufflers. It's got other mods. 1.6:1 true roller rockers. That's the cam and mufflers I've got.

Thanks for the sound file Aaron! Now I know what my car is going to sound like when I get it running. It sounds like it will scare the CR@P out of the ricers and rustangs! :D
Awesome!

OH Yeah! But, the mufflers he's got (and me) are just strait threw. Not much muffling. He's got a real high compression @ 10.5:1 or so, 2.05/1.65 valves and 1.6 roller rockers. 3'' dual exhaust. So, you'll lope like that, just probably not as loud. Nonetheless..RICERS will cry.

Sounds awesome.
Sounds like I'll have a stealthy idle with my setup, and a nice scary noise when you get on it.
Terry, can you take me for a ride sometime soon? I'd really like to get an idea what I'm in for...

Sounds awesome! Looks like I'll have to go for that new cam after all (even though I do have a big, lopey 292 duration that's ALL top end power)
And new mufflers...heh heh heh....and my wife things it's loud NOW with the Flowmasters!

Yeah, I can take ya for a ride in mine. I'd prefer to get the heads on first, though, so you get the full package but even now its not bad.

I got the XE268 due to my power accesories and am very happy with the
setup. Sounds almost stock and has a good wide torque curve.

My XE262 sounds close to the sound file. I have the 1.52 roller rockers so mine's not quite as rough, but close. Oh- did I say how much I love driving my Vette. Ha-Ha.
