Alright GM part # bigshots
Does anybody know what these part numbers are? 14057060, and 14057059. They are 2bbl manifolds for street stock racing, where we must run stock 2bbl manifolds. I think they are marine intakes, and want to know if anyone knows them.

Re: Alright GM part # bigshots (MNJack)
I know they are both intakes, but im wondering if anybody knows anything about them. ie what they came on, and how much performance they might facilitate. We have to use "stock" cast iron intakes, and these look BIG, but we need to know what they came on to use them on the track, or pretend we dont know better if we get caught :yesnod: MNJack, where did you get the info from?

(I know nothing about those intakes! :) ) I just plugged the part number into http://www.GMpartsdirect.com and that's what popped up. It is a good website for determining validity of a GM part # and GM list price. They have very high shipping/handling charges so it is usually cheaper for me to buy the parts elsewhere. MJ

They are 2bl cast iron hi-rise manifolds. The only difference between the 2 is some bracket mounting holes. They were never used on any pruduction cars. They where made for Mercury Marine. They look like a early LT-1 intake but in a 2bl form. VERY easy to visually spot. Most places that have a 2bl rule usually outlaw those intakes.

our track hasn't outlawed these (yet) and we have one of them (059). Do you think they are performance intakes?

One of the best 2bl intakes available. If you can run it I definatly would. I thought most of MN ran under Wissota rules? I know they outlaw marine intakes.

No, but we have seen some of the tracks in wisconsin (you have a lot more than us) banned this intake, we hoped that was why. Are you a racer Pete79? We are in Elko, MN

I have been out of racing for 7 or 8 years now. Just took up too much time.
The last time I was in Elko was in the early 80's with a short track car I worked on that Ted Musgrave drove. It was a late fall race and all I remember is how cold and windy it was. I worked a few years Alan Kulwicki when he ran ASA and the first years with Nascar. After that I owned a bunch of different dirt track cars.
