question about hurst shifters
i'm putting in a hurst shifter on my '69
does anyone know if i have to replace the shift rods also,
or would the stock shift rods bold straight onto the hurst shifter
without any problem
oh...it's a hurst comp shifter

Nope you'll need the shift rods too... they come in an installation kit... be sure you order the proper kit for your trans. Different years and difffernt model trans' (M20-M21 (early and later) all use differnt installation kits...

Do you already have the shifter? I have a "normal" hurst on mine now, that I am replacing with a hurst V-Gate shifter in the next couple weeks, and i have the later model type rods with it (my transmission is not original). I was planning on putting it up on ebay once the v-gate is installed, but if you are interested, let me know.

no i don't have the shifter yet, i actually just got it off of ebay

I'd recommend getting the stock looking shifter handle that bolts to the Hurst shifter. Keeps the car stock looking and also the Hurst handle that comes with the shifter is too tall in my opinion.

kinda late to get that one now :lol:
but, it's okay...i'm planning on putting in a richmond 6-spd
in a yr (or 2 :( ) i'm just replacing the stock shifter b/c it's shotty
and it won't look, sound, or drive like stock once i'm done with it anyway :jester
