Suspension parts(Springs)$$$$
Ok, I purchased the front end kit from ZIP and Vette Brakes HD tie rod sleeves today. The more and more I look at those old springs the worse they look(Rusted). So i have decided to buy new ones. I guess I could go through one of the big suppliers and buy a 460 lb spring, but that will require cutting it down to lower the front. My other choose is to custom order the spring from PST to my own specs.
Ecklers $79.00
PST $129.00
Just alittle back ground, my car is set up as a red light racer. But I do get the itch to turn a curve at 70 mph every now and then.
Also if I go with the Ecklers, I could then use the extra cash to buy a rear swap bar kit.
Give me your .02 cents.

Are you not interested in 550lb springs? They lower the front end an inch. You may want to get opinions on rear sway bar. I went thru 2 and finally removed it and am happier than ever. Got a thicker front one though.
Good luck! I started with front end rebuild kit and ended up doing entire suspension.

VB&P is where I got my new front springs with my susp. kit. If you look at my car, I didn't cut anything on the springs, they gave me the stance I have in the front & that's with 26" tires :) .

Terry- If I cut a 550 down it will increase the rate.
Smoked-I have taken so much weight off the front of the car, stock springs will still put me in the sky. I'll email you a pic.

You shouldn't have to cut the 550 down. VB&P's 460 is at stock height, but the 550 will lower the frond end an inch from stock height.

Re: Suspension parts(Springs)$$$$ (sharklover)
That will put me at 3 to 4 inches above the tire. My problem is I am running headers, alum. heads, alum. FI, alum. waterpump, alum. brackets, plastic electric fan, less belts, and no shroud. Let's just say I'm lite.
I emailed a pic to Smoked. Maybe he can explain how high it is.

Go to autozone and get some big-block springs. Cut down to correct ride height. Will be a little softer than 460 lbs springs, but should be stiff enough. Less than $50 and no shipping.

Bud we all strive to lighten our cars for various reasons. I never even considered that it could raise the front end as much as yours is sitting. Have you removed the springs at all ? Be sure to check that they are seated correctly at the top, when I've removed mine, I found that the springs can easily fowl at the top which would press the frontend higher . Be sure to look & see if they're seated in the pockets. Also make sure the spring end is in the hole on the bottom a-arm. Maybe this is the problem your experiencing, seems too high just by taking ~200 lbs off the frontend.

Buddy,
I think you ought to go with the 550lb springs and drop a 400 in it. ;)

Re: Suspension parts(Springs)$$$$ (topless68)
Topless, I still have a empty engine stand waiting for the 400.
Follow up on the springs. I went to O'rellys and order the Big Block/Small block Heavy duty springs for the front. Asking prices was a whopping $48.00.
I should pick them up on Monday and try to figure out a cut rate. Maybe 1/2 coil at a time.
