71 Alternator Mounting
I recieved my side exhaust this morning and promptly took the day off to put it on. Went with the stock style and manifolds. So I had to remove the headers (that I hate anyway). Bubba made an alternator bracket that bolted to the header bolts. It's unusable with the new configuration. The new manifold has mounting bosses that point toward the front of the car. Obviously, I'm missing a bracket. Anybody know what bracket I need and where to get it? I can only find the LS5 mounting in the AIM.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 71 Alternator Mounting (lbell101)
There are 2 brackets to hold the alternator. An upper and lower. The lower one mounts to the two holes in the manifold. The upper mounts to the upper mounting bolt of the water pump. Both are available from the major suppliers. See Paragons link for an example. http://www.parts123.com/PartFrame.as...ragon_Corvette

I used an alt bracket from an 80 on my 71. It mounts to the head and uses a an arm mounted to the water pump. It is very funtional and clean looking. I hate the kind that mount on the headers.

Good idea!
I hate those header mounted ones too. This one was especially nice as it had that rustic "cut with a torch, welded by Bazooka" finish.
