Can you say..."Side pipes!"

Can you say..."Side pipes!"
I just check the CT DMV web site. My 77 is no longer required to go through emmisions. Now I am thinking about when I can afford to remove the Cat and put on side pipes. I LOVE side pipes!... :yesnod:
What brand has a good sound but wont break the bank...(my bank that is...lol.

Ron,
That all depends on how big "your bank" is. Chrome ones are going about the $1200 range. If you want Jet-Hot coated ones call them, I think they now stock the Hooker ones, probably around 100 bucks cheaper.
Sidepipes Rock!

Stahl and Headman also make a sidepipe header set up. Lots of ways to get "PIPES". JCL   :chevy " Sidepipes are the way"

However - the price went up by $100 the next day after I placed my order.

I've got some homemade glasspacks that I use the side tube for the outer casing and after I drive I can touch the pipes for about 5 seconds before I have to move my hand away. Now the collector is a different story, but that is not anywhere near the door.

If you like the single pipe look (rather than the exterior collector like the hookers), you can get them very cheap from JC Whitney, or pretty cheap dynomax ones from Jegs, or moderately-priced very nice stainless ones from the spiroturbo baffle folks. Personally, I like the looks of the single large pipe with chrome slotted covers like the JC Whitney ones, and you ain't gonna beat $150 for a set of sidepipes!
