Default Door Handle Repair?

Now that the painting is complete on my 68, I started putting the pretty parts back on. Got to the door handles which I had rechromed a year ago and had not even unwrapped. They had been taken apart (which makes sense) but the pins and springs are gone. Anyone know of a source for these items?
I checked zip, eckler, mid-america, and the good doctor. They all sell the complete handle but not the pin or spring.

Terry

Terry-
Can't say that I've seen any seperate hdwre for the handles, anywhere. You may have to think of alternatives. I would either look for a used set to use/size hdwre, or try hdwre stores to replace roll pins, etc...
Will be on the look-out for you...Good Luck -Rod

Get used parts of any condition and pull the pins and springs. I bought used door handles at Carlisle for $1 each, just for those springs and pins. For used parts try:
Sal Carbone
RPOVette@aol.com
Restoration Parts Outlet
(860) 649-2241

He may have some donor door handles that you don't car about the condition of the chrome pieces.

I saw a G.M. left side door handle on E-Bay Brand new, but there's not much time left to bid on it.

Not sure of where to get the pin (hardware store, something equivalent), but as for the spring, I used a slightly modified one from a mouse trap. Don't laugh, it worked.

TerryN68,
I've had my 68 since 1972 and have never seen the pins or spring s for sale for the handles.
I am positive that you can find the spring at any good Hardware store, the pins are to long to be easily located.
I have two handles you can have for parts from my 68. On one the pin and spring are perfect but the chrome on the handle itself is bad so I removed it from the car. The other handle has the pin but I think a portion of the spring broke but it is still workable. That handle was severly damaged by thieves trying to steal the car.
You are welcome to one or both of the handles as donors so you can fix your newly chromed ones if you are interested.
No Charge, glad to help you if I can.

Terry;

I have a set I took off when I painted my car. Not in too bad of shape. You can have them if you want them.
