What is the rest of the combo (heads, intake, exhaust, etc)?
You really need to maximize the entire setup. A huge cam with stock heads is gonna just plain suck.

Good set of dart heads, hi flow. Appropriate intake for it, and hooker side pipes. I really need someone to tell me what the biggest stuff I can run is on stock cubes. I need a cam that will give me decent low end torque but focus on a high redline and high HP at those rpms. And it has to sound bitch'n, which it probably will through those hooker sidepipes.
Help anyone?
Thanks,

Do You have ANY IDEA about compression ratios????? MY cam is ideal for a low comp motor, but wouldnt be for squat if you are going to go to 9.5 comp. or higher. You tell us EXACTLY what you are going to do and I promise you someone will recommend the best cam for your combo.....Whats your rear gear ratio, what is your tranny (stick or auto)? We're tryin to help here friend but you arent giving us enough to go on OK? A lumpy idle doesnt necessarily mean you're gonna be fast....it just means you're gonna have a lumpy idle... I can have a lumpy idle in my mild motor just by turnin the idle down :jester

OK, well I dont know what I want to do. What I should have asked is, what head/cam/intake/exhaust setup will get me the most power out of my stock 75 corvette. Its an auto, and has stock gears (not sure what the ratio is). So can someone tell me what I should get for it?
Thanks
Thanks

If you want power, your cheapest options are: a new crate engine, forget building-up your 75 it will cost you more money in the long-run and if you don't know what your are doing you will end-up with something tha you will not be happy with.

I'm taking my stock l48 '77 into higher hp territory with:
comp cams 268h cam
edelbrock aluminum EGR intake
hooker 68301 smog headers
true duals to super turbo mufflers
stock carb
trick flow 23 degree aluminum heads
stock everything else
haven't put the heads in yet, but supposedly this is a good combo. also check out: http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/goodwr...20part%201.htm
good luck!

I totally disagree with that......There are endless combo's that you can add to build power cheaper and just as effective for much less investment

If your bottom end is in good shape, going to aftermarke small chamber heads will raise your compression ratio to a reasonable point. The preformer intake seems about standard for street use as there is not enough hood clearance for anything taller with a stock hood.Give compcams a call and they will give you a recomendation for a cam.Their 268h is a good cam. With a stock 75 you probably have 3.08 gears.I don`t think you will be happy with any changes untill you get rid of them.If you can do the work yourself, you`ll spend 2 thousand or less and have a strong, fun car to drive.

See my exhaust topic on Terry's Corvettefaq.com.
Max. for stock valve springs is Comp 268H. May be too much, do you have L-82? Will give a noticeable cammed idle. Many like one step down w/ stock auto./gears which gives a good idle & more low end for launch.

I've been driving it without the new heads installed yet and its really QUITE a difference from stock. The biggest change was going to headers and true dual exhaust (check out the article that ganey mentioned).

If I get new heads and cam, will I be able to pass emisions with the stock exhaust setup (but new cat and mufflers)?
