Anyone using a two color interior?
I saw a Silver Boxster with black carpeting and red leather seats. It look pretty sharp. I've been toying with the idea of using the same color combo. My interior is currently black but my seats need re-covered and I was thinking of switching just the seats to red.
Whatya think?
Anyone else using two colors on the interior?

My interior is currently red. I'm toying with the idea of adding black. Would probably do the carpet and seats in black and leave the rest red.
Then a perl white paint job.

I am in the process of doing a red/black interior. My seats are already done black leather with the center portion red leather. The shifter boot is red, my dash will be torch red like the exterior with maybe a little torch red on some interior detail.
In two months, everything will be done so I'll post some pics.
Here's my seats...

I want to do the same thing. I have all black now, but would love red inserts in the seats. I did buy some red floor mats at carlisle, but it just wasnt enough. An outfit in Hawaii sells seat covers that have red inserts, but they're around 300 bucks. If they were cheaper I would buy them just to see how it would look.

I love the idea of 2 tone interiors I first got the idea form a 96 that I saw in a brochure. Here is what I have done.
I needed a complete interior so I went to a local upholstry shop to see what he could do with the dash, door panels, and seats. As it turned out the cost came in about 1000$ less than ordering new stuff and doing it my self I got all this work done for under 750$. I was most impressed with the work he did on the door panels. He used both types of material, while streching and shrinking it to hug the curves of the door panels. here take a look

I like two tone interiors also. Mine has red porsche seats with black insert. Don't ask what that cost. Black carpet and the original red dash and panels. I like the contrast of two colors. Somehow th red car with the all red interior was just a little to much. I'm glad i'm not the only one who did the interior that way. Some guys hated my car because it isn't stock. F____ stock---

Those Red / Black interiors are super   but would not work with my paint.
I was thinking of something similiar by adding black to my factory buckskin.
Thanks for the ideas guys.
My next Vette will be a Black 65' with Red interior.

I haven't quite finished with the interior, but this may give you a pretty good idea what it will look like. Sorry the images are kind of fuzzy. The leather is not white, more of a parchment color. The red is a bright red from the C5 color chart. I just wanted to do something different than all black, beige, tan, red or blue. Maybe it's a bit over the top, but I like it.

Re Stock
I like stock as well but with my car and budget there was no way to go stock besides in 76 the stock engine was nothing to brag about.
There is no labour lost in building a custom vette that's for sure

Thanks for all the great pics guys. You gave me a lot to ponder.
Aaron----are the flags in your head rest area embroidered?
Chuck----I like your interior. I too dislike a one color scheme especially when the car's exterior matches the interior.

For my taste, I like a classy simple look. Chuck Harmon, and N8370C have achieved this by keeping the basic interior one color, and accenting it with contrasting seats or carpet. That looks fantastic guys!! :D :D :D

Re: Anyone using a two color interior? (1970 Stingray)
One thing to consider is that you want about 2/3 or more one color. You don't want it 50/50. Silvr77 comment alludes to this.
If you cannot visualize it, then a model would work well.

What's really over the top was when the Japanese learned to color plastic, etc. & colored everything.

My 76 came two toned from the factory - firethorn & white. Only mods in interior are new steering wheel and shifter handle.\
