Can a metal bumper front end be put on a 73 ?
I am looking at my next project a 73 BB. The front bumper is missing and it needs some TLC ( I see a frame off when I look at it. I love doing those :D :D ) But what I would like to investigate is putting a metal bumper set up on the front. I love metal bumper cars. Is this possible? or will it be alot of Bubba manufacturing have to happen??
Thanks
Bob

You just have to buy a front clip and support off an older car, pull yours and drop the other on.
The cars are basically the same everywhere else. So the only thin that you are changing is the front frame extension whatcha do.
Some of the other guys who have put more thought into will probably give you a more clear concise answer ;)
I like what you've done with that car :smash: Make me feel like a slow worker :yesnod:

I would not need a whole clip right just the mounting brackets and front bumper stuff. Not fenders too right? I put the 80 fenders and all on this 76 I would hope not to have to do that again
I just have not looked at this 73 and a 72 long enough to see how simple or complicated this little project will be.
I work a pretty sweet shift 4 day`s on 4 day`s off. That gives me a lot of time to work on the vette plus florida weather makes it nice too. I have installed side pipes on the car since the pic on my sig.. I love them but it made the car to quiet. :cry :cry
Thanks

You HAVE to change the whole front clip. If you look at the pics below, you will notice that the '73's urethane bumper completely caps off the front clip but the '72's chrome bumper simply sits on the end of the clip.

I see now Well it was a thought. The 73 I am negotiating is just missing the front urethane. I guess I will just replace the correct bumper back on the car.
Thanks

The '73 is a special car as it is. If I had one, I'd celebrate it. Changing it to '72 style (1) is not worth the cost (2) negative to the value (3) makes it another anonymous chrome bumpered car and (4) easy to spot as a fake (ie side vents egg cgrate vs. sugar scoop, hood differences, pop-out vs. static back window, etc).
Just replace and hot-rod and you will not be dissappointed.
