Ehh...Possibly a loss in low-end torque with such free flowing exhaust. But what's 20lbs when 10HP@6,000 is added.
(sorry, I just started thinking about stupid ricers I saw last night and that came to mind, no offense  )

seems like this wouldnt be as effective as the more typical siamesed connection at the apex of a radiused piece of tubing - in this pipe it looks more like the opposite banks are slamming against each other instead of actually helping the scavenging. Possibly even less effective as an h-pipe but that is just a gut reaction from looking at it. I have nothing more than that to go on.

An X pipe is basically a balance or crossover pipe w/o the pipe. That one doesn't look good. Apparently he took the X  too literally.

If you have stock ex., both sides are already connected. If duals, then under the rear end would work but w/ a better one !

The crossover pipe is to be located as far forward as possible. A scientific way to determine this is to draw a crayon mark along the exhaust pipe and at the point where the end of the burnt crayon is where the crossover pipe is to be located. This is usually under the transmission which isn't practical so right behind the crossmember is a better compromise.
The best crossover pipes are the x shape but they are to remain as sleek as possible.

Metal_Wulf....i went to my local muffler shop....the guy does wonders so ask around maybe in your area....
I had a H-crossover put on my vette. I had the Dynomax cerramic headers allready installed, trailered it the 20 miles to the muffler shop and they ran me new duals with a custom H-crossover behind the tranny like I asked...all for $200.....all pipe and labor...I supplied the monza dual-tipped mufflers. I am very happy with the work....looks fantastic...and he hugged the underbody very well with straight lines...and it will last forever.... :yesnod:
