How to attach piece of wood to uppper back of car.
Just finished wiring for my amp and was wondering what the best way would be to mount a piece of wood to the underside of the "trunk" area behind the window of my 76. Was planning on using contruction adhesive, but if there is something better to use, please let me know. I plan on mounting my amps onto the wood because they are too large for the storage compartments. Thanks!

Several members have posted their "custom" speaker and amp mounting.
Try a search, I remember 2-3 in the past week or so.
If I find something I will post it for you.
Good Luck,

When I mounted my speakers, I just drove some 2" sheetrock screws through the sheetmetal at the back. There is 2-3" of space between the back of teh storage compartment and the tank.

Thanks john but I would rather put it where the "trunk door" would be, upside down.

I thought of the same idea when the time comes to mount a power amp in my vette. My idea was to use Liquid Nails to adhear a suitable piece of plywood up so I could screw the amp into it. I figured a 3/4" thick piece of plywood just larger than the amp itself. Then 1/2" scrws to attach the amp to the plywood. Once the plywood is glued there, its pretty much there for good.

Go to Home Depot and buy some PL2000 construction adhesive, made by Bulldog I think. That is some strong stuff. They have a display at my local Depot of two concrete blocks glued together with a handle also glued to the top, must weigh at least 50lb. You will destroy anything bonded with that stuff before you got it apart.
