Default Transmission Question 4-speed

Ok I just put a 4speed in and would like to put in a higher 4th gear so it wouldn't be revving as high when I am driving down the highway. Or my grandfather said that you could take 3rd and 4th and reverse them and it would be higher only you would have to shift like this

Default Re: Transmission Question 4-speed (DCBStingray)

No, that's not going to help you at all....it's just going to goof up your shifting pattern. Your 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio, if you want to lower the RPMs at highway speed you can:

A) Get An Overdrive Transmission
B) Change To A Higher Geared Rear End (i.e. 2.73, 3.08, 3.36)
C) Install Taller Tires (Will Slow The RPMs Down A Little But Not A Lot)
