Default Insurance question

My son and I were talking the other night , and he wants to save up and get a C3, like his old man. :D
He was asking me about insurance, and I told him that since he had 2 speeding tickets ( 1 in Mom's grand am, other in his ricer) that insurance might eat him alive, if they were still on his record when he got his 'vette.
How long do insurance companies go back in your driving record?
How much $$$ for insurance for a 21 year old male?
Thanks........

It might vary from company to company, but I'd heard three years. I think he's probably SOL on this one, especially since he's under 25.

I am 23 and I have had 1 minor (no points, like $45CDN) speeding ticket. I pay aout $230CDN a month for the months that I am driving just my Saturn, and I pay around $440(CDN) for the months when I want to drive the Vette. The ticket I got was about 3 or 4 years ago.

Not sure if this helps at all, but at least gives you some sort of eaxmple.

chris.

Not sure if this just for NJ or not, but I need to wait 39 months from the time it was *posted* before it will be removed.

* I got one ticket in march, but it didn't get posted until august so I can't go by the march date, i have to go by the august date, kinda sucks... but oh well..

All you have to do is ask the insurance company, and they should tell you for sure.
