do i need prozac to enjoy my vette????
Love to drive my vette. Hate to drive my vette in traffic. I live in a relitivly busy suburban area. Every time I take out my vette which is not all that often this time of year, it seems like someones always getting in my way. Makes for a real frustrating vette venture. As soon as I think I got a clean break, some other friggin weiner pulls out in front of me doing 5mph under the the limit. Im pullin my hair out. Ok you frigging weiners, im takin my vette out at 6am sunday morn. Just try and get in my way. Im gonna let it all hang out. Just me and the road and my vette. I hope you got your earplugs in.

I hear ya John. :D At least in the C3 folks are looking at it and notice it. When I drive around the C4 I might as well be driving some other import sports car wanna-be. ;) ~Juliet

Try working on one all the time. Then the drive time is just a vacation.

I hear you loud and clear, I've done so much work on my 79 that I have the shakes just taking it out for a sunday only drive. Not long ago someone posted a picture of a 82 that got nailed right behind the left front wheel, tore the frame in two. That one picture is worth a lifetime of worry for me. It scares me cause I drive a lot in my job and I see how people drive. Of course perhaps I drive too much and i worry too much? but that's another issue. And Juliet, you would NEVER look like somebody in an import EVER ! ;)

I hate everytime I look in my rearview mirror. I see the person behind me talking on a cell phone, swatting at the kids and paying no attention to me or other traffic. It does take some of the fun out of it.

If you do try it and it works, let me know!!
Not only is driving it in traffic nerve racking, but God forbid you should have to park it, say, at a restaurant in a crowded parking lot. I parked my Vette at a fast food place the other day and was all alone on one side of the lot. The next thing I know, cars pull in on either side with kids flinging doors open with reckless abandon. Although I was sitting inside with a clear view of the car (mandatory), I was too nervious to eat.
Maybe it just takes time to get used to. Either that or I will have to learn not to eat when I'm out in the Vette.

I officially qualify as an old guy around here. Driving my car in the 1960s and 1970s was sooooooooo different than today. I could turn it loose, almost at will, with little concern about too much traffic or county mounties!
Sure is different now :(

Er, just drive around the wieners. Why have a car that handles, if not to swerve occasionally? ;)
I do occasionally worry about the ones behind not having nearly as good brakes as I do... But then, there aren't usually many cars close behind me.
