Default Lakewood bellhousing/header clearance

I am in the process of swapping transmissions. I decided to install a Lakewood blowproof bellhousing, but it doesn't clear my headers (small block). I thought about modifying the bellhousing, but I realize this is a no-no, and it will lose it's SFI rating if I do. I would like to get Hooker Super Comps, but I need to know whether or not they will clear the flange. What are you other guys with Lakewood bellhousings using for headers? Thanks

AC

I'm running the Hooker Competition headers on mine with the Lakewood scatter sheild. There is plenty of clearnace on both sides. What type/brand headers are you having problems with?

I know this isn't any help but I have heddman side pipe headers and a lakewood blowshield. One of the best things about sidepipes is that there isn't any exhaust under the car.

Well, part of the problem is that I don't know which brand of header is on my car now. They are older painted headers with no nameplate. I tried the Dynomax headers, but after getting two incorrect sets, I would like to try something different. I was thinking of the Hooker competition headers. I originally thought of the Super Comps, but my motor is more suited to the Competition headers. Now that I know they fit, I will give them a try, thanks :).
