Bubba needs help! Paint blister repair on the cheap?
The crappy paint on my black 77 is getting pretty bad (thanks previous owner!). But my car is a driver and even if money wasn't an issue I would still be looking for good driver paint, not a trailor queen job.
Have any of you repaired little things like blisters using rattle cans? I don't have a compressor and don't plan to buy one soon, does anyone have any experience with cans of compressed air and an airbrush? Is it bad to put new primer on old primer, or blend different types of paint?
Thanks!
Jim

I had paint cracking on the rear deck of my 79. I used a block sander and 800 grit wet sandpaper to narrow down the vallleys created by the cracks. Next I used GM black automotive spray paint over the area. Next day, I wet sanded using 1000 grit then 1200 grit then 1500 grit. Finished it off with an orbital polisher and came out looking great. Of course this may be a tedious process, but it will save you big bucks. You can find gm automotive spray paint in Hemmings Motor News.
