That's what was in my car when I bought it. Great performance at 3500 and up. No low end and very little midrange torque. I'm replacing it with a Comp XE262. The Comp should give me much more low end and mid range performance. I can do without the power at 5000+
The 350/350 is not for a car with a 3.08 rearend and stock convertor. You need 3.55 or 3.73 gears and an 2000-2200 torque convertor to run it effectivly. Just my opinion from my experience with it. A much better performance cam if you have the gears and torque convertor is the XE268 or XE272.

I gotta admit, in a way I really like it. Crusin' around, keeping my foot out it, it makes for a very nice driving car, that can come to life pretty well when you want it. I think the 350/350 3:55 4spd is a nice all around performing car.

Wish I had more.......with a 5spd. But it satisfies the itch.

Im running a 327/350hp BP cam and i think its great. gives me a slight lope, but dosent kill my off the line power, even though my timing is way retarded so i can run pump fuel. i think it will work well when ever i get enough money to buy a procharger.

A good way to make money is to hold an old cam in the air with hands at each end and bet the guys you can break it .After bet is made, drop it on the ground.Make sure it hits flat though.

That particular cam along with the duntov "097" were the street rodder's choice for many years....Until The late seventies when a emission bill was passed requiring stock REPLACMENT parts be emissions retrofitted. This effected cam timing. So if you buy a new stock timing chain set and compare the crankshaft keyway to a N.O.S. one, you will see that the new key way is retarded a couple of degrees. (less than half a tooth). Whithout knowing it when people bought a new timming chain, they were retarding the cam and losing bottom end torque. Cam lobe centers were also changed. Anything related to emissions that could be changed WAS. That is why you MUST degree a new cam if you expect it to perform correctly..If you can find an original 350/350 cam and degree it in, it makes a very nice cam for manual trans cars. :chevy

Hey, hey, hey now, why you making fun of my cam

I run the old Speed Pro version, very close to original specs of the 327/350 horse, L79 cam. I run it advanced 4 degrees, use Rhoads lifters on it, and 1.6 ratio rockers. It pulls hard from idle. I guess I could have just bought me a new hi tech cam that had all of the good performance characteristics built in. But, wheres the fun in that?

The one thing about that cam that is essential for proper operation is decent compression. Without it, that thing sucked the big one.

Nunus where are you at with your car? Ever get another carb? Cam? :D

On timing chains for small Chevy the Cloyes #3100 is the ticket.Prestretched so the cam won't retard as much when miles accumulate

That cam was popular in the 70s w/ guys who liked mild hyd cams.
The Serious  ran much larger solid lifter cams.
