Heater Core Hose Sizes for a 1969???????
Are the heater hoses that connect your heater core to the over flow tank and engine different sizes?
I know on my heater core the top outlet is a little larger in diameter than the bottom outlet but on the overflow tank the two outlets are the same size.
Help!!!

The hose sizes are, if memory serves me correctly, 3/4 and 5/8. And for the over flow tank one of the hoses from the core goes to the tank and the other connects to the engine. The other hose from the tank goes to the other connection on the engine.

Re: Heater Core Hose Sizes for a 1969??????? (BLT-71)
Thanks for the information
The reason I ask is that I just recieved a hose kit and both of the hoses are the same size.
I better call them.

BLT-71 is correct, I'm looking at my heater core now and the outlets are 3/4" and 5/8".
Where did you order the hose kit from? I also have a hose kit coming and I'm hoping you could post what you find out after you call them.
Thanks...

I ordered the kit from Corvette Central.
I'm pretty close to them and get stuff in about 3-4 days most of the time.
I know alot people have had problems with them but I have never had any problems with them.
I call them and let you know what I find out.

Mine is all wrong also. It seems I have a pressure cap on both the radiator and on the pressure tank. With that setup I am not sure how to hook it up. If I put too much fluid in it just blows it out the pressure tank overfill tube
We sure could use some PICs here. :D

999 how long ago did you get your heater hoses from Napa?
When I spoke to them all they wanted to sell me was bulk heater hose.
You would not be able to come up with some part numbers by any chance would you?
Thanks.

I spoke to Jerry at Corvette Central and he informed that I should have received a 3/4 inch hose and a 5/8 inch hose.
One hose should have the GM logo in white on it and the should have the GM logo in red on it.
They are sending out a new set today and sending me a call tag for the ones i received that were wrong.

Stopped by NAPA last night, needed a spring for the ’69. They had all sorts of hoses from the ceiling. Two that were more than long enough with 90 deg bends were NAPA no’s 9822 & 9814. I also had bought some from the Dr. some time ago. Functionally the same as NAPA’s. So it all depends on if you need the ink spots and ribs or not.

I heated my heater hoses in super hot water and then bent them to go into the heater core. And be real real gentle with them and the heater core while putting them on.
