vette brakes monospring, need tips on installation
I just received VB performance plus system. I have never done suspension work before and could use a few pointers on the order to remove parts and reinstall the new ones. Also any helpfull tips not included in the instructions. I can not wait until this thing gets back on the road. I am also waiting on the rack and pinion from steeroids so there will be some parts I will not use. I guess I could try to sell them in the parts section.
Thanks
Thanks

If you go to the top of the page to Tech Tips, someone wrote up a page on this. Here's the link to the article https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=75&TopicID=3

Thanks 82dukman,
I am just as nervous about installing this as I am excited about driving it with the new suspension.

I'm there with ya, buddy. My front monospring kit is sitting on the garage floor, anxiously awaiting this weekend's "car jacking". :) Steeroids is on order.
Everything should be a pretty straightforward unbolt/bolt, I imagine. The one thing I've been putting a little thought into is how to get the front coils out without launching something across the garage. Here's my thinking so far:
Get the car well supported on jack stands, including one way in the back and one up under the nose.
Get the floor jack up front under the A-arm, right under the coil. Jack it up until the wheel starts to lift, watching that I don't rock the car off the stands. Then unbolt the inboard part of the A-arm. I imagine the ball joint will have to be unhooked at this point too. Let the A-arm down carefully, allowing the spring to expand downward.
Seems doable. Am I missing anything?
P.S., I have 550 lb coils and no spring compressor on hand.

Re: vette brakes monospring, need tips on installation (Noel Carboni)
Hey Noel,
The few people that I have talked with so far tell that it is a must to have a spring compressor. They are available at many of the auto parts stores for loan (refundable deposit). If it's free I might as well use it.

Wrap a heavy chain around the bottom part of the spring and through the
and around the lower a-arm, just a safety precaution!

You could call the Tech department at VB there is always someone there to help. If they don't know the answer they can always call some connections find someone that knows and call you back. They helped me with my install of the rear composite spring and were very helpful when I was looking for parts they didn't stock. :flag
