Default You guys seen this fuel additive?

Hi guys

I found this additive for fuel online, that is supposed to increase fuel economy and power... dunno if it works but i think i might try it

heres the link http://www.solpower.com/soltron/soltronmain.asp

If it helps with emissions i think that a few of us might get by with larger cams :reddevil

Never heard of the stuff but the "testimonials" worries me. Where is the testing by an independent lab and testing agency? Why isn't any car manufacturer recommending this stuff?

These things come along over the years and most of them get labled as snake oil.

In alllllllll my years of foolin' with Chebby engines - and I've tried everything from octane booster to water injection - I've found only TWO liquid fuel-additive products (besides all that Premium gas) that actually do anything good:

1. Chevron Techron detergent.

2. STP Intake Valve Cleaner (yellow bottle).

The only one I use that will make a noticeable diference is Chevron Techron
and I know it was recomended by BMW several years ago
Goot luck  :chevy

Ditto on the Techron, it works as advertised, a worthwhile product!

By the way, I run a solid roller 245 degrees @ 0.050", 0.575" lift cam and have passed emissions with flat zero numbers - 0 ppm HC and 0.0% CO.

I have dual catalytic converters, which I made sure were good and hot, and adjusted the computer to run my car very, very lean for testing (hey, you're not supposed to be able to do that).

It ran like a dragster, shaking the fenders at 750 er 900 er 800 RPM, but none of that nasty stuff came out the tailpipe. The guy running the test seemed surprised.

Maybe it just knocked the sniffers out of the tailpipes. :jester
