I checked out the hotels in St Charles last nite and seems the rooms are going fast. One had avaiable rooms, but when I check back ten minutes later they were gone. :cry

Tom,

I received the same information last night. Unfortunately, they have rescheduled for the same weekend as GM@Carlisle and the NCRS Regional in Des Moines, IA. Not the best choice of dates... I'm certain that available dates were limited, but still not a good idea to try and compete with the other two events.

Regards,

But what is wierd is that Bloomington Golds historic date has been the last weekend of June. They had this years scheduled for June 27-30. But this year, for some unknown reason, the National Corvette Museum scheduled it 50th Anniv Kick-off for the same time period, June 27-30. Could not believe that. The NCM scheduling its Corvette event on top of one of the two largest Corvette shows in the country, unreal. :mad :mad Bad museum, bad museum. http://www.corvettemuseum.com/50th_kickoff/info.shtml

I for one am glad. That Interstate Center was either a muddy dump or a dusty dump. Was'nt even taken care of very nice either!!! Can't believe it would be moved this late though!!! That is unreal!!! I cancelled my hotel two month's ago!!! My sixth sense is acting up again!!! Now, if I could only focus on lottery numbers!!!

We had been discussing the possibility of a move for awhile here and in fact had been in contact with a Bloomington Gold VP about the possibility. But the first I saw of an actual move was on the NCRS Discussion board last night. As of this morning there were about 5 or 6 posts under that thread. But I just looked over there and they have removed that thread from the NCRS board  Wonder why they would do that?

Tom, I made a post on the NCRS Board about this and it was removed in 3 minutes!!! Remember, the NCRS Discussion board is ONLY for "technical" questions and advice. No other kind of talk permitted

I herd that the NCM 50th dates were set by GM in referance to the to the 50th
aneaversety of production so there would be little choice on dates on the celabration  :chevy

Received to following e-mail from a VP of Bloomington Gold. Thought you may find it of interest. It stated, in part:

...there has been a series of negotiations going on since last July that would have relocated the show to a site other than the Interstate Center in Bloomington/Normal.

Why was a new site being considered? Primarily because our participants have
been telling us they would like to try something new. Consequently when
Bloomington Gold was offered the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles,
Illinois, we were thrilled! Here was a super location that would offer our
participants the new experiences, sights, and opportunities they have been
requesting. As our 2002 show plans developed, we found that relocation would also necessitate a date change due to prior commitments at the new site. When Chevrolet heard about these plans they were excited, these changes eliminated any conflict with the Corvette's 50th year celebrations. These two changes will allow all of our Corvette friends, participants, exhibitors, and sponsors to maximize their celebration involvement while
joining with Bloomington Gold in celebrating its 30th show June 13, 14, 15,
and 16 at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois!

To help facilitate hotel and motel room reservations in the St. Charles
area, the show dates have been blocked off until an equitable distribution
system can be arranged. This week Bloomington Gold, the Pheasant Run staff,
and the St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau will meet to arrange the
accommodation process. Please bear with us for another couple weeks while
the details are worked out to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Information on the new site will be placed on the web site shortly and in
our registration brochure, which will be mailed out early in March.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience these changes may cause
you. I sincerely hope that the resulting rewards, benefits, and excitement
of these changes will justify your continued participation and support of
"The Granddaddy Of Corvette Shows."

Fantastic for me as I live 10 miles from St. Charles not the 200 from Springfield. Anyone interested, the Pheasant Run is a wonderful resort hotel with golf, show theater, restaurants etc. Lots of other attractions around the area also. Be worth the trip but book early.

Hey big vette1
Since you live so close to st. charles ,maybe all of us can come over to your house and clean our cars up in your drive way before the show!!!!! Can you imagine what the neighbors would think!

What this ACTUALLY means is that when Bloomington is done hoarding up all the rooms for their VIPs, VPs, CEOs, Ken Lay, Arthur Anderson execs, President Bush, AL Gore(Gore in 2004, Chads or no chads!!!), judges, volunteers, instructors, auctioneers, celebrities... They'll release some rooms to "commoners", which is us, the idiots that pay their rip-off entry fees and the main reason they are even in business :mad
