Default air conditioning and headers

What did you do with the a/c compressor bracket when you added long tube headers. It does not look like it will bolt back up to NON STOCK exhaust headers? I did find brackets for the driver side, alternator, but I am lost on the a/c side. Can you guys help?????? Everyone here likes the hooker ceramic headers..right? I think I read the dynomax were bad?????? Thanks again

I used a spacer the same thickness as the cast manifold minus the thickness of the header and gasket. I bought a Hooker A/C bracket but ended up sending it back because I didn't like the quality of the piece.

Dynomax Coated flow & fit great. Formerly Cyclone @ 200. Some slight grinding said to be necessary on your a/c bracket. None needed on comp. for 77 up.
Also they have a cheaper one based on the Blackjack not rec. @100.

Hey Ganey, I saw the Dynomax headers for $219 @ Summit. Should I buy the a/c bracket from Hooker or just make one. I though maybe a thick aluminum spacer to make up the difference?

I'll cast another vote FOR the Dynomax coated headers. I've been running them for some time. They even hold up well under Thermotec insulation. On the other hand, I had a set of Hooker Super Comps go bad (also under Thermotec) in less than a year.

It's been a loooong time since I did the header bolt / A/C bracket thing, but as I recall I just found some thick rolled steel tubes the right length and long bolts to get the bolt heads out to the right places, then bolted on the A/C brackets.
