The regular date for Bloomington Gold is the last weekend of June. The "Gold" web site shows the Bloomington Gold show being held June 27-30. Makes you wonder why the NCM would pick a know date for a major corvette show to schedule something of their own. Wonder if there is some back door politics going on here?

Have not heard any thing about canceling but there is talk of moving the show for 2003. They were looking at moving for 2002 but is too late to make a change like that.

Don't be to quick to say they won't move it this year. I am a Bloomington resident and let me tell ya, it's a hot topic around here. I posted a thread titled "Bloomington Gold Moving" if you want more information.

I found a great quote in the Bloomington newspaper from Feb 1st about the issues on the show at Bloomington:

"When we originally came to the Interstate Center, all we asked for is grass to judge these cars on. It's the only request we've had all the years (five), and every year we get told 'we seeded,'" said Mecum. Cars wind up in mud or dust. "We're losing 15 percent of our attendees a year.

"The problem is the ambiance. I feel we have a world-class show and we're looking for a park-like setting. What we have is a dirty, old fairground, which is fine for what it is, but we want more. It's for sheep and pigs, not for a world-class show."
