Default Installing Cam

How difficult is it to install a cam on a 78 L-82 w/out removing the engine? Can it be accomplished?

Can be done no problem. Im not sure it worth pulling the entire engine just for a cam change alone. You need to pull the driven accesories, distributor, intake manifold, waterpump, timing cover, valve covers and radiator. The a/c condensor can be unbolted but left in place. Have a friend pull it towards the front to provide clearence to get the cam out of the block.
