Default 4 speed trans- need identification

I have a close ratio trans with case number of 3925660 and another number under it of 3088336....any ideas....help :confused: :confused:

The 3925660 denote a Muncie 4 speed trans used in GM cars from 1968 though 1970.
The 3088336 is the patent number.

As posted above you have a "660" case but you really can`t be sure if it`s a close or a wide ratio without sending the numbers stamped (NOT cast) on the side of the case, even then you will only know what the trans "started life as" you can also look at the input shaft and count the rings to get an idea, But again some replacement gears had no rings cut into them. In other words MORE information is needed to tell what you actually have. ..redvetracr
