Everybody in the entire state of HI had the same idea that I did. I got there at 10pm and the line was so long I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a run in before midnight when it closed, a guy pulled up behind me and said he just finished his 2nd run and he was in line to run at 7pm when it opened. I sat there for 20 min and decided there was no way I would reach the start line before they closed and got out of line. I guess there was some oil on the track or a system malfunction also because not a single car went while I was in line. The guy behind me said that there was an event next weekend and everyone was out practicing for it, so I guess next weekend is also shot all to crap. Norris, did you read that? Next weekend is an event so if we go it will have to be on Friday when everyone is fine tuning their car. Let me know what you think. What a bummer!!!!

65 degrees.........freezing????? ;) . You just have to rub it in don't you. Here we have winter storm warnings for the next few days (that means lots of snow and mucho wind, the two don't mix very well) and you're telling us all it's 65 there. :) Why don't you just stand up in front of the whole class and say "na, na, nana, na, it's 65 degrees here and you're freezing your nuts off".

I've got a heated garage for when it gets cold.

I heat it to 60 degrees!
Any more than that and it's just too warm

Oh and good luck at the track!

Did you switch the tires?
I didn't switch them. I got busy with other stuff last night then went to the circle track first. I don't think that everyone truely understands how cold 65 degrees really is in Hawaii and how it affects folks here. I wish I had a camera so I could show how people dressed here when it hits the extremely low temps. I saw people wearing winter coats and gloves and the knit snow hats! The local news started out tonight saying "How much longer is the cold weather going to be here"

You guys don't know what dedication to the sport is until you've had to strap on the chains to do the 1/4 mile.
My friends and I got a kick out of the comercial about why there is'nt NASCAR at the Salt Lake Olympics. They were in the pits strapping on snow chains.
We have joked for years about times in January being slower due to the chains.
So laugh it up funny boys, we'll go ice fishing and dream of spring driving. :mad

Us stout Midwest guy's run around in shorts and t-shirts, and take our T-tops off when it gets above 35 in the winter... it's like a heat wave. :jester

The new BMW Mini will mean a revival of ice racing. I look forward to seeing that car in North America!

I know what you Hawaii guys mean. BTW, 65 is not freezing it's 50s...

Saw a newscast once where they were talking about how cold it was in Canada & they could not even lock the doors etc. The news lady was all bundled up & talking to others all bundled up & between the camera comes a guy barely dressed something like a t shirt & jeans. Made everbody talking about cold look like .....
She asked him "Aren't you cold?" He didn't have time for this chit chat about cold & looked back & said "No, I'm Eskimo."

Ganey,
I can't let let that one go by ;) . Cold is cold. It is currently -10F. I washed my Impala yesterday to get the white salt spray off and this morning it was frozen shut. After hitting the driver's door with windshield washer fluid and my Wife's hair dryer I was able to get it open in about 10 minutes. Time to plug in the car for tonight :) . That's a heater in the engine block.... ;) .
