Can you help me identify these cylinder heads
They are currently on my 72 smallblock which doesn't have the original engine. The casting number is 3947041. Can anyone tell me the following
1. Are they originally from a corvette?
2. What year ?
3. What are the chamber sizes?
4. What are the valve sizes?
5. Are they any good for a mild performance package? (i'm looking for 350hp)
6. Would Sportsman 2 or iron eagle heads be significantly better?
I really don't want to splash out on new heads if these can be made to work.
Thanks in advance
David

David,
have a look at http://www.mortec.com
There are plenty of numbers for all kinds of engine parts.
I´m sure you will find yours.
Where in the UK are you located?
I´m in north Birmingham most time throughout the week...... :D

Re: Can you help me identify these cylinder heads (454Big)
Thanks for the prompt response Frank. I have checked out the site and it has answered some of my queries.
Would still like to know valve sizes and how they compare with the sportsman and iron eagle heads.... if anyone can help.
Frank I live about 45 miles north of Birmingham and until recently worked on the business park near the airport and NEC. Perhaps when its a bit warmer and i have all my bugs sorted out (about May or June i hope !!) we can meet up somewhere...i will e-mail you nearer the time if you like?

I´m located close to Spaghetti, you should know when you work close to NEC.........
Must be a pain to drive there every day, isn´t it?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I think i shall stick with these heads for the time...maybe new valve springs and seals just to freshen them up.
Thanks again
David :)
