is this worth it??
found a 1982CE 17K for approx $20,000.00 ...I really like the car and have the money since I just sold my 79 and have saved for a while. I'm not looking for speed just a great weekend driver with low mileage to cruise in..car is mint..what say we here....yay or nay......your opinion counts!

Does'nt sound like an unreasonable price. I've seen other "Corvette Dealers" ask up to $29,995 for these cars. Remember, that's their asking price. Main thing to do if you get it, drive it, enjoy it and maintain as best as you can. A car like that too you might to keep very original as with that low mileage and all it will keep it's value much better. All of the '73-'82 price guides show these '82 Collector cars as near or at the top of the list for pricing. They are great value cars-people will always buy them. I don't think you could lose any money on it. Sounds like a super nice car. :yesnod:

I don't think it is worth it unless you are going to keep it as a non driver. With only 17K miles you wont want to add any more. Also the brakes and all the rubber parts will need to be changed. For 20K you can buy a C3 that has been all rebuilt with new parts. For 20K you should be able to get a nice roadster.

Just to give you a flavor, this is a copy of a current add at the Corvette Dealer near me who is ussually on the high side. The pictures of the car look immaculate.

It might be a little on the high side. Especially with the market the way it is right now. I bet if you took $18K - $18.5K in cash and plopped it down on the table, you'll drive out of there a proud owner of a pristine '82 CE Corvette!!

Re: is this worth it?? (catfishjack)
Thanks to all who replied. I bought my wife a new vehicle today. I looked at all the vehicles on the lot within the $20,000.00 range. I realized you don't get very much for your money...$20,0000 does not buy a lot of car these days.
I'll get this car and drive it approx 3000-4000 miles a year. I'll get my money out of this car and it will still be worth $$$$ IF I ever decide to part with it. I was going to buy a C5...well I'm not a C5 kind of guy..I'm going to buy this car and tell myself it is my last C3 but I am going to take 1 more look at a 1982 black coupe with DOCUMENTED 310 MILES...Hmmmm 310 miles..hmmmm
