What should I do with these?...Pics
I've just about finished preparing one of these pieces so I'm now trying to decide which finish would look the best.
What sort of finish and/or colour would you suggest for these assemblies?
Chrome plating...powder coating...paint?

Great job, too bad you have to coat them with anything. But if you want them to last ya gotta do something.
Powder Coating would probably last the longest and look great. Chrome would certainly be different but might cost more than it's worth. A good shot of Eastwood's Detail Gray did it for me.

I'd try cerama-coating them. Techline Coatings sells the same kind of coating that Jet-Hot uses on their headers. On a highly polished piece like that, it would look almost as if it was chrome plated. The stuff is easy to use, clean the piece with acetone or lacquer thinner, then you spray it on with a touch up paint gun or for small pieces an air-brush. Bake it for and hour at 500* F. and then after it cools, buff it with 0000 steel wool. It makes a very durable coating that will last for a long time.
I think it is easier to use than powder-coating and seems to be just as durable, and certainly is more heat resistant than paint or powder coating.

err... what are they?
I would go with clear powdercoating... if its not in one of those spots that you cant get a rag on

This is a cast part, and I guess it has been heat treated.
Chrome plating, even though its my favourite, will make the part brittle and will disintegrate the metal structure - unfortunately!!!
Therefore that this is your life insurance for keeping your rear wheels in proper camber, you should "only" use powder coating - but this is OK as well!

Frank...Very good point about the chrome plating. I'll eliminate that process from my group of selections tho I would've liked the look. With the amount of work that I've put into preparing this piece it'd be a shame to cover it up with paint. Some of the other suggestions will have to be mulled over before a final choice is made. I'll be sure to post the final result when it's done.

Bob,
I talked to a galvanic expert this morning.
He recommends to zinc plate it by galvanic dipping.
This will create a "like chrome" look, due to your fine preparation.
He told me that they will adjust the zinc bath to a "bluish" tone that will look like a chrome surface.
This to my knowledge won´t hurt the integral structure of the part and should provide you with years of troublefree service!
Hope that helped!
