Exhaust Manifold Color
What do you think the exhaust manifold color should be painted or should it be painted at all. They are wire brushed and kind of rust colored right now. What, black, grey, silver or just leave them be?

I like the factory gray manifold paint from Eastwood's. They also make a silver color. I have used the gray on various cars, after bead blasting, and preping with acetone.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Color (ED DINAPOLI)
No I'm just making it look clean like the rest of my newly rebuilt engine. They look clean. Just rust colored like they would be from use. Some say the paint will never stay anyway. Silver is too bright. I doubt I'll oredr anything to paint with. I'll use something form the auto parts house that is high temp. I just figure out the color that people would expect to see.

Did mine 3 years ago and they still look just like this using Eastwoods Hi-Temp Gray Coating. Not the best pic but you get the idea:

While I would not paint the exhaust manifolds, I applaud the use of cadmium paint. It is very nice. Picked up a couple of cans at Carlisle last August.

The L-82 distributor, the Moroso weights, the various Corvette parts, now all white! The Wife decided to spray paint a kitchen door in my work room???? All my parts are now white! Out with the varsol to clean up; soon. I am told that it is my job?? That is my furnace room and it will be -20C tonight. Do not need that vapour in the furnace room tonight. After 27 years, I guess that I can say that she meant well ;) .
