Vinyl T-Tops/Would You Buy?
These vinyl t-tops are lightweight and fold into a carrying bag for easy storage. Very convenient. Unlike current market products that attach with velcro, these units have mounting hardware similar to conventional t-tops. They attach in seconds in case of inclement weather and are secure at normal highway speeds. The intent of this poll is to determine if there is a market for this C3 accessory.
Question-If this product were to made available, would you buy a set at a suggested retail price of $299.00US?

In a few years... Heck yeah! Times are a little tight right now, with the new house and all.
They look great, especially for those trips where you need all the space for luggage so you must leave the tops on.

I have often wished that I could go for a ride and leave the big glass tops at home... But US$299.00 is a little pricey... That's what...CND$800.00 ? :jester

Yeah I would Paul. The ones that use velcro go for $270
So $299 sounds like a good price.
Are you thinking about going into production with them?

I couldn't see shelling out $300 for those; maybe $200. Kind of like the bubble tail lights for my vette, the kit sells for $100 (on sale in Mid America or Ecklers for $75). $100 for some tail light lenses and mounts? That's also hard to swallow..

I'm just thinking. Some 542,411 C3s were produced. If only half of those remain then that is still a fairly substantial market. If the price was right and the quality high.....

Looks like $199.00 is winning out. But consider the velcro competition at $269.00. Which would you rather have?

The Ecklers"Rain Coat" tops seems like the same company the makes "weatherboots".
Fox Enterprises.Though nothing on the tops on their site.

Thanks Joe. Yes the Eckler's are the Fox units. But it is discouraging to get several hundred lurkers and few voters. Not that this Forum is a proper marketing instrument but the lack of participation is discouraging.

Thanks Chris. I appreciate your opinion. What would be your price tolerance level?

Joe,
The vinyl is much more resilient to deterioration than canvas. My pics shows the tops with Zaino vinyl/leather protecter. Too much shine I admit.

I gave the bubble lights a try for a year. Was not impressed. Settled on four tail/brake lamps. Police do not give me a hassle re lack of back-up lamps.

Let's put this matter into a perspective. These glass tops are original to my 1979 and have been sitting in the basement for 15 years. They are worth....$1,500US? I do not use them as they break so easily. So they sit. I have the luxury of that option. If you did not, and you have glass tops on your C3, would it not be preferable to go for a ride and leave those expensive tops at home? The $299.00 vinyl top does seem a reasonable option.
