Default Are all T-arms the same for every year?

I had a problem with my Van Steel rebuilt t-arm and he sent me another but this one looks thicker and the shape and quality isn't the same. The problem I had was the caliper mount was bent.

Is there a way that I can take off the caliper mount from the second unit he sent me and install it on my current arm???

thanks

You can't take the caliper off unless you have the inner bearing pulled off the spindle. Setting up those bearings is the whole reason for buying them the way you did. Are you sure the mount is bent. Seems to me that it would be very difficult to bend that.

yeah... I am sure the mount is bent. Tony's corvette shop told me that is why the caliper was sticking..

Well then I will mail my arm back for rebuild and send this replacement one back too.

robert

Do all the years have the same size t-arm??? Like I said before, this arm looks thicker all around...

Also the replacement arm has gold dust shields and this one is silver. I am worried that if I install the replacement arm and put some 17inch wheels that it would look funny. You would see one silver and one gold....

hmm.. Not very happy right now.

Believe early C3s, or maybe even C2s had the silver backing plate, while later C3s had the gold cad. color backing plates.

I'm sure there is a forum member who can answer this for sure, just not me.

I just sent my arms to Bairs for rebuilding. The dust shields are different colors depending on year. The people at Bairs are really knowledgable and I bet they would answer your question if you called them. For the price of those arms, I would get the right one not just one that is close.

There is a certain "spindle press" that bolts to the caliper bracket to remove spindles and was told by Bair's that if a spindle comes out super hard and someone tries to use this "press", they can bend the caliper bracket.
