Default Did manual LS-4's have a different crank?

I was reading throughsome old 73 articles and I believe the one from Super Chevy said that the manual 73 LS-4's had a forged crank with 2 bolt main caps and the auto's had a nodular iron crank. Does anybody know for sure if this is true or not? If it is, that's one less part I've got to worry about :D as far as the power levels I'm going for.

I think all LS4's had the same crank-nod iron.

Pat,
The manual trans LS4 used a forged steel crankshaft while the automatic trans LS4 use a nodular iron crankshaft. Both were 2-bolt mains.

This data is available on The '73 Spot. While you are there, I could use your vote on the Vette top 100, am about to fall out of the top 25. Or you could just click here to vote.

I voted twice for ya Tom, I originally caught that info on your site then saw it on another so I thought I'd check into it. You wouldn't happen to have any of the casting numbers would ya?

Thanks

Not really. Checked my parts interchange manual and it only lists one number, 3967414, but do not know which one that is for.

Tom, I couldn't find a listing for the 3967414. I did find a listing for a 336782, 70-74 454 auto.
