I have come by a 69 427 I intend to build for a 69. I am new to Chevy products and know little about them. I want a street strip motor, I'd like to run 500ish RWHP normal aspiration. I would think that would be fairly easy for a BBC. Can someone give me some guidance here? What is rectangular port/oval port (other than the shape of the port) and what is the differance between closed/open chamber? Can someone give me recommendations for used heads/casting numbers to be looking for? New heads? Cam recommendations? Maybe point me to a good big block chevy resource?
