I Married Mrs Goodwrench and had Daughter Ms Goodwrench
From my previous topic "Lower Radiator Hose - HELP" I received a lot of good ideas on how to get that bugger lower hose on. It needed more hands than I have, so I asked the Wife to try and give me a hand This is going to sound wrong but with me on top and her underneath we went to work. After 1 hour of pushing and pulling the Wife ran out of hand strength - SOOOOOO - back in the house she goes and returns with my 24 year old daughter. Under the car goes the daughter and we are back at it, 20 minutes later the hose is on and the clamps are tightened. All in all I think the wife and daughter need a little recognition for the help. Oh, I almost forgot the temperture in the garage was only 22 deg F.

My wife went from not even being able to change her own oil a couple of years ago to, removing and replacing the carb on her '65 tbird, which has been sitting for at least 4 years, getting it running and driving it around the block. She also maneuvered the starter in and out of the headers in her '69 Mustang Cobrajet. I did give her advice on which wrenches to use (the starter bolts on the cobrajet were a b*t$h), but I was fairly impressed. Now I just need to convert her to Chevys :chevy .

Very  My wife won't get dirty with me (under the hood, that is), but she has become proficient at spotting and identifying Corvettes when we're on the road. I'll get her there eventally... :)

My wife refuses to assist even on the most minor repair. FORGET crawling underneath and helping w/ a radiator hose!

That is great!! I'll second on the dinner at a fine restaurant!
Kim changed her own spark plugs and wires. She would change the oil, but she does not have the strength to loosen the drain plug. (VW's are awkward to work on sometimes.) She helped me take the radiator out of the Vette.
The one bad thing about her knowing about cars: When I start talking mods for the Vette, she starts talking mods for her VW! :smash:

So let me get this straight?
You needed a hand, so your wife comes out and gets underneath with you on top. After an hour of pushing and pulling, the wife was tired, so she goes in the house and gets your daughter. Your DAUGHTER gets on the bottom, and you're back at it for 20 minutes.
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist :jester

Heh, nice. My wife has helped me quite a few times on the 78. A couple times are memorable. Once I needed help getting my bare frame on the trailer, and it slipped out of her hand and smashed right on her foot. Damn was she mad.
One other time, my finger got stuck in the lower control arm. Man that was scary.

Re: I Married Mrs Goodwrench and had Daughter Ms Goodwrench (Rhys)
Congrats to your daughter and wife....I am a Mrs. Goodwrench too....work on my own car and my husband likes it that way....funny story: Started working on the frame..degreasing...put on a trash bag and got a wire brush got under their and did it...came out looking like Aunt Jemima (in ears, hair..grease everywhere)...so I get out from underneath thinking it looks like my kitchen floor.....right...wrong.....I said to the hubby..what do I do now? He looks at me and says...do it again...and walks in the house........first time I got dirty, I mean real dirty and I love it...the smell of grease is in my blood now...and swap meets are like going into a store and everything is on sale.....I hope it rubs off on my 3 year old daughter....sorry for the long story, but some women don't know what they are missing....tell your wives there is some good "quality time" to be shared and then give her a can of degreaser for Valentines Day....... :jester
