79 Corvette Inner rocker???Do they have Inner rockers
Never thought these cars had inner rockers I was reinstalling rocker moldings when I noticed A soft spot on what I believe is the inner rocker..After I cleaned it out it left a hole alittle bigger than a Quarter.....It's in an odd place..So I can't really patch it.....Is this in fact the inner rocker???......I looked and dug around with a large screw driver and found everywhere else pretty Strong.(Just that 1 quarter size area).. Do you guys think I lost any strength integrity...Also I can't seem to find any mention of an inner rocker in any of my catalogs...Any thoughts...Thank you

if you've got a hole in your "inner rocker panel" then chances are you've got a hole in your frame. the glass body fits over the box frame,and when you step into your car over the door sill. that rise you're passing over, is the frame fitted up into the glass body so to speak. i can't say if the frame is weakened,but check the frame area just in front of the rear wheels, as this is an area that can go bad on C2 and C3 frames.

..Ok..I think I figured it out took a much better look today....It is not the frame..Frame is Solid... I believe it is called the rocker channel...The part the rocker molding screws to...It is a Small hole about the size of a quarter..But to make sure evrything else was solid..I took a hammer and chisel to it.:smash: :smash: .And it is Solid...So I guess I will be Ok.... :)

You may have knocked the mounting screw tab out? I mounted my rockers with WD-40 and SS screws.
