You should be able to get the idea w/o the CD.
Thought about mounting the Kenwood Mask CD between the 2 rear speakers in a black plate & using the remote by bouncing the signal to the back.

Take a look at the stereo install on my website. You might get a few ideas.

Thanks. The only problem I'm having with it is alternator whine. I have one filter installed at the alternator and I'm working on two more. Hopefully that will take the rest of the noise out of the system.

Here's a couple of shots of my setup (I hope). Includes JVC 12-disc changer, 8" speakers, and the courtesy light relocated. All mounted on a piece of plywood cut to fit and covered with carpet. My first ever attempt at something like this. Take your time, be patient (not one of my strong points!). Good luck!

Jeff,

That is the sweetest rear speaker/changer set-up I've ever seen in a vette. Great work and beautiful job of covering it with the carpet... trust me I know how hard that can be from my experience with fabricating sub-woofer boxes. Do you have a set of plans for your setup you could share?

Great work!!

Michael.

Thanks Michael! I don't have any plans, since it was just kind of a trial and error type project, but I could take some measurements if you're interested. I originally bought the 8" speakers in one of those boxes, but it would slide around in the back, and after it rubbed a spot on the window of my new convertible top, I knew I had to come up with something better. Then I decided to add the CD changer, and it just sort of evolved into what you see. It doesn't interfere with the top operation at all. Anyway, thanks for the compliment - it makes it worth all the pain and aggravation when somebody else likes it too!
